To accompany my drawing of Grand Emperor Ganon is my vision of Link from the same world. A quick recap: this is based in a "what if" timeline where Ganondorf succeeded in the events of Ocarina of Time and thus built an empire with himself as the sole ruler for nigh a millenium. Despite his tyranny, he has industrialized the kingdom of Hyrule through centuries of Goron slave labor, expanded it tenfold, and provided the people with a sense of security and superiority as they belong to the fastest growing and most advanced empire in the known world. This age can be seen as a parallel to our own 17th and 18th centuries.

Link dons the red hair of his Gerudo ancestry, while still retaining the skin pigmentation, ears, and facial structure of his Hylian ancestry. History has it that Ganondorf defeated Link at the end of Ocarina of Time, but whether he died or not is moot. Princess Zelda grew to be the first of his many brides, bearing the first generation of the Ganondorf royal bloodline.

This Link is older than any other incarnation seen before in the series. He is a musician in one of the orchestras of Ganon's empire, reigning from a city-state far from the capital. His talent lands him a position in Ganon's royal symphony...

The addition of the gun has to be one of the best ideas of this budding series; I'm appalled that we never thought of that before. As for the image itself: I enjoy how everything about it still adheres to the formula that is Link, yet here, he is not only older, but far more mature than we've ever seen him. This leads me to fantasize about a gameplay that would allow for the user to invest himself into the character and experience a freedom that far exceeds the expanses of Wind Waker's sea. We have here an assertive and confident Link that was not unwillingly cast into a destiny, but one who has been decisive in his effort to pursue Ganon. His face says it all.

Thanks! I'm still developing the backstory as I continue to make art in correspondence with the general concept. Hopefully it will all come to fruition with time.
